Abstracts

The abstracts of the presentations are limited to 2 pages and will be posted to this Web site shortly before the conference. The abstract should be independent of the research report. It should contain: (1) the objectives of your investigation; (2) a clear statement of the benefit or necessity of Microgravity for the successful completion of your investigation or the relationship of your investigation to microgravity research; and, (3) a succinct statement of the significant results of your investigation. The abstracts will be bound into a volume and distributed to each participant at the conference.

Author's Instructions

Format for Two-Page Abstracts:

The abstract is limited to two pages of single-spaced, 12-point Times text. The text margins should be flush left (do NOT justify text). All margins should be one-inch (top, bottom, left, and right margins). Keep endnotes and references to a minimum; in fact, you may want to avoid their use entirely. Spell out all acronyms and abbreviations on the first use, and try not to use equations unless absolutely necessary. The title of your abstract should be in all capital letters, centered, and in 12-point Times boldface. See the Abstract Template (rich text format).

·
Do not use color in your abstract.
· Do not put page numbers or anything else at the bottom of the page.
· Do not use any pictures, figures, or diagrams.
· Do not indent your paragraphs and put one blank line between each paragraph.

Abstracts should be submitted as an e-mail attachment (MS Word files only) and sent to:

nancy.bennett@msfc.nasa.gov

no later than March 27, 2000. On the 'Subject' line of your e-mail type: 'ABSTRACT' followed by your last and first name. If you are using a different word processor (othe than MS Word) then use the Save As feature to save in Word format.

In addition, to verify that the e-mail submission transferred completely and correctly, please FAX or mail a hard copy of your abstract to:
Nancy Bennett
USRA/Mail Code SD46
Marshall Space Flight Center, AL 35812
FAX: 256-544-4333 Phone: 256-544-2974

The two-page abstracts will be printed by photocopying the manuscripts submitted by the authors. Faxed copies are ONLY acceptable as verification of electronic text. It is important to note that the appearance of your abstract will depend largely upon the care you take in preparing the original text. Please make sure your submission is camera ready. Authors are responsible for proofreading. Abstracts received later than March 27, 2000 will not be included in the bound volume distributed at the conference nor on the CD of extended reports.
