Amendment 23 announces that the MOST U.S. Guest Observer Program will not be solicited in ROSES-10. This step is taken out of necessity to accommodate pressures on the Astrophysics Division's budget and reflects a strategy to apply constrained resources efficiently towards the highest priorities of the 2010 Decadal Survey of Astronomy and Astrophysics and the Astrophysics Division.
The MOST U.S. Guest Observer Program was designed to support the acquisition and analysis of new scientific data from the MOST (Microvariability and Oscillations of STars) observatory through a partnership between NASA and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). The MOST mission is designed to conduct photometric studies with high precision sufficient to perform stellar asteroseismology studies and other variability analyses of stars and exoplanet systems.
