ROSES-13 Amendment 35 releases text for Appendix A.41, The Advanced Component Technology (ACT) program. Notices of Intent to propose are requested by February 7, 2014, and the due date for proposals is April 2, 2014.
The Advanced Component Technology (ACT) program seeks proposals for technology development activities leading to new component- and subsystem-level airborne and space-based measurement techniques to be developed in support of the Science Mission Directorate’s Earth Science Division. The ACT program is managed by the NASA’s Earth Science Technology Office.

This solicitation seeks development or advancement of key instrument components or subsystems that enable or significantly improve new Earth sensing systems. Rapid advances in Earth science instrument technology are enabling considerably smaller instruments that may be able to meet many science needs in the future. Rapid evolution of spacecraft bus technology toward smaller satellites, when combined with increased launch opportunities on a more diverse set of platforms and launch vehicles, opens the possibility for many new approaches to Earth science mission implementation.

Questions concerning Appendix A.41, ACT, may be directed to Joseph Famiglietti at Joseph.Famiglietti-1@nasa.gov or (301) 286-1833.
