ROSES 2013 Clarifications, corrections and amendments Amendment 37: Revised text for Appendix D.8, SAT

Description: A number of changes have been made to this call. In particular, this amendment cancels the solicitation of proposals for the TCOR element (Section 4), narrows the scope of the TDEM (Section 2) and TPCOS (Section 3), and the point of contact has changed for TCOR. See full text for more details. The due dates remain unchanged; NOIs are requested by January 24, 2014 and proposals are due on March 21, 2014. NASA plans to compete all three SAT elements again in ROSES-2014.

The Strategic Astrophysics Technology (SAT) program solicits proposals to support the maturation of key technologies to the point at which they are feasible for implementation in space flight missions. The SAT program is not intended to support "basic" research into new technologies and demonstration of their feasibility (TRL 1-3), nor is it intended to support flight qualification of mature technologies (TRL 7-9).

This Amendment releases revised text for Appendix D.8, the Strategic Astrophysics Technology program. This Amendment makes various changes to Appendix D.8, SAT: it narrows the scope of the TDEM (Section 2) and TPCOS (Section 3) elements and cancels the solicitation of proposals for the TCOR element (Section 4).  Other changes include new definitions of the mid-Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), adding sRLV to the suborbital piggyback flight opportunities in TPCOS, and the modifications of funding for new selections for TDEM and TPCOS. Finally, the point of contact has changed for TCOR. The due dates remain unchanged; NOIs are requested by January 24, 2014 and proposals are due on March 21, 2014. NASA plans to compete all three SAT elements again in ROSES-2014.
