Coronal Mass Ejection: Insight From Recent Spectroscopic Observations by Davina Innes 06 November 2001 In the last couple of years the UV spectrometer SUMER has observed high velocity flows in the corona associated with flares and CMEs. The observed lines span the temperature 2 x 104 K to 1 x 107 K. Using a number of examples with simultaneous soft X-ray, white light and EUV images, a view of the flows at CME onset will be presented.
