Meeting Details
The Sixth Huntsville Modeling Workshop was held October 26 - 30 at the Guntersville Lake Lodge in Guntersville, Alabama. This year's conference brought together about 100 experimentalists, theorists, and modelers for a conference emphasizing the exploration of geospace using instruments and techniques that couple traditional 'big picture' approaches with campaigns of multiple in situ and ground observations.
The meeting is intended to bridge the gap between current ISTP-type correlative observations and future observing campaigns focusing on simultaneous coverage of extended regions of geospace. A central question is how to synthesize discrete observations with imaging techniques to advance our global perspective on magnetospheric processes. Discrete observations include in situ and groundbased observations.
Current and future investigations that study magnetospheric processes via correlative techniques are appropriate to this meeting. Sessions will emphasize current achievements from ISTP investigations as well as providing a forum for discussing new techniques based on upcoming missions such as IMAGE and TWINS.
