In this activity, student teams design and conduct a scientific investigation in which they explore the conditions necessary for life. They conduct observations of environmental conditions both indoor and outdoor, and determine the range of variation they see.

Where Do They Come From? Follow the Falling Meteorite

This is a lesson about mapping objects using triangulation. Learners hunt distant meteorites using geometric properties and relationships, demonstrate and experience triangulation, and apply triangulation to directed and group-challenge mapping activities.

MY NASA DATA: Analyzing Tree Rings to Determine Climate Change

Tree ring analysis and satellite data observations are combined in this investigative lesson on past climate. Students will compare the width of tree rings from a real or virtual tree x-section with precipitation levels from authentic satellite observations for that same time period.

S'COOL Lesson: Poetry in Weather

In this learning activity, student will identify clouds and describe related weather, then incorporate the observations into a poem. The resource includes a multiple choice assessment. The lesson is supported by S'COOL cloud tutorial, and several poems about clouds.

Working in groups, students use contact paper to make samplers to collect local data on aerosols - the small particles found in the atmosphere. Students then analyze, interpret and make predictions based on their data.
