What Do I See Now When I Picture Saturn?

This is a lesson about Saturn. Learners will reflect on what they have learned by drawing everything they picture when they hear the words Saturn and Cassini, and add labels and captions to their drawing. Students look back at their first exercise (lesson 1) and compare the two.

Glacial Retreat

In this problem set, learners will analyze a true-color satellite image of an Icelandic glacier that has been retreating since 1973. They will determine the scale of the image to take measurements of the retreat, such as volume of ice lost. Answer key is provided.

Fermi Paper Model

This site offers a number of two-sided posters focusing on the GOES weather satellite missions. SciJinks is a joint NASA/NOAA educational website targeting middle school-aged children and their educators. It explores weather and Earth science through articles, videos, images, and games.

Climate Change in My Backyard (Grades 10-12)
