Amendment 10: Corrections to B.9 H-FORT

ROSES-19 Program element B.9 Heliophysics Flight Opportunities for Research and Technology (H-FORT) seeks to advance the development of technologies and their application to enable investigation of key heliophysics science questions through demonstration of innovative technologies and associated science investigations in a relevant environment. To advance the Technology Readiness Levels of promising technologies through testing in a relevant environment, H-FORT utilizes the following sub-elements:

  • Low Cost Access to Space, which includes technology and associated science investigations that can be carried out with instruments flown on, e.g., suborbital rockets, stratospheric balloons, suborbital reusable launch vehicles and
  • SmallSats and Rideshare Opportunities, which includes technology and associated science investigations that can be carried out with instruments flown on SmallSats (including CubeSats) or payloads on the International Space Station (ISS), Department of Defense (DoD), or other rideshare opportunities.

Amendment 10 removes from B.9 H-FORT erroneous language referring to CubeSats and International Space Station payloads from Section 2: Low Cost Access to Space, but those opportunities remain in Section 3: SmallSats and Rideshare Opportunities.

The due date for proposals remains unchanged at August 28, 2019. Notices of intent are not requested nor are Step-1 proposals required as a prerequisite for responding to this program element.
