Earth Day Network (EDN), the organizing body for Earth Day worldwide, announced that the theme of Earth Day 2021 is “Restore Our Earth.” Earth Day is scheduled for April 22, 2021. NASA traditionally sponsors Earth Day educational/hands-on science activity events at Washington DC's Union Station every year. Stay tuned for more information as NASA's plans for Earth Day 2021 develop.

NASA Anniversary -- NASA's Pioneer 5 (launched on Mar. 11, 1060) provided the first map of the interplanetary magnetic field. This mission was part of the famous Pioneer program—which included far-ranging Pioneers 10 and 11—that charted the space between the planets. -- LLayton
NASA Anniversary -- On Mar. 2, 1995, NASA launched the ASTRO-2 mission on Space Shuttle Endeavor (STS-67). --LLayton
NASA -- 30 years ago, on Feb. 28, 1990, NASA launched the Atlantis Space Shuttle on mission STS-36. Mission highlight: Sixth mission dedicated to the Department of Defense.
