Giant Jupiter is half illuminated by the Sun and its moon Io is a crescent in the foreground. A small glowing volcanic plume is erupting from Io.

Jupiter and Io

This is a montage of New Horizons images of Jupiter and its volcanic moon Io, taken during the spacecraft's Jupiter flyby in early 2007.
