Messier 5: Amateur Image vs. Hubble Image
Messier 5 (M 5) is a globular star cluster that formed more than 12 billion years ago. It is located some 25,000 light-years away in the constellation Serpens. The left image was taken with an 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope using a 0.63x focal reducer and a DSLR Camera. The right image was taken by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope.
