
Rebekah Dawson-Rigas
Program Scientist
Rebekah Dawson-Rigas is a Program Scientist in the Planetary Science Division (PSD) at NASA Headquarters. She serves as Program Officer for the Exoplanet Research Program, Associate Program Officer for Solar System Observations and Solar System Science, and PSD Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) lead.
In her role AI/ML role, Rebekah is a member of the Planetary Data Ecosystem Team and serves as Program Scientist for the Lunar Foundation Model development project supported by the Office for the Chief Science Data Officer.
Previously, Rebekah was a Professor of Astronomy & Astrophysics at The Pennsylvania State University, where she led a research group focused on the formation and evolution of planetary systems. Her work has been recognized by the American Astronomical Society’s Annie Jump Cannon Award (2017), Division of Planetary Science Harold C. Urey Prize (2020), and Helen B. Warner Prize (2021).
Outside of work, Rebekah enjoys exploring DC with her family and volunteering in her community.
