SNWG Radar Workshop, March & July 2020
NASA and USGS sponsored a 1-day virtual workshop in March 2020, and will have 1.5 day on July 7-8. On behalf of the U.S. Group on Earth Observations (USGEO), Satellite Needs Working Group (SNWG). The SNWG agencies collect Earth observation data needs for consideration by NASA in current programs and future missions. The workshop covered NASA’s response to these needs through an augmentation of the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) mission and a proposed set of science-derived products. The workshop provided an opportunity for the SNWG and other Federal agencies to be part of NASA’s product and mission planning process to support an array of science and operational applications and to inform NASA’s Surface Deformation and Change (SCD) mission, following NISAR. The products and missions discussed will fundamentally contribute to the Nation’s understanding of hazards, ecosystems, natural resources, agriculture and water resources. SNWG and other Federal agency participants were invited.
