Nancy Grace Roman, NASA's first chief of astronomy, and Jane Rigby, Webb Space Telescope operations project scientist, talk about the Webb and its science while at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, on March 31, 2017. Rigby is an astrophysicist and has used Hubble observations for her own science. Roman was NASA's first chief astronomer and paved the way for the creation of space telescopes focused on the broader universe. She is celebrated for being the "mother" of NASA's Hubble Space Telescope.
