From its vantage point about 3.9 million miles away, the Galileo spacecraft captured this “family portrait” of the Moon orbiting Earth. This computer-enhanced photo was made from images taken through visible (violet, red) and near-infrared (1.0-micron) filters. The moon’s orbital path is from left to right.
