"Star Trek: Enterprise" Actor Tours Hubble Facilities

Hubble engineer Justin Cassidy (right) shows American film, stage, and television actor Connor Trinneer the Hubble Space Telescope Power Control Unit "trainer" that was built to help astronauts to prepare for Servicing Mission 3B. Hubble's Power Control Unit routes power throughout the spacecraft and had to be replaced during the 2002 mission. Switching the units was a difficult task for the astronauts since the Power Control Unit has over 30 connectors that were difficult or impossible for people wearing bulky astronaut gloves to grasp. Special tools and crew aids were developed to assist the astronauts during the mission.
