Hubble Operations – Ground Station Test
Flight operations team members Bijal Patel and Phathom Donald take part in a discussion on commanding the Hubble Space Telescope on April 11, 2019, in the Mission Operations Room. This room is the only place where commands can be sent to the spacecraft. Commands and data are transmitted to and from Hubble through communication satellites; however, ground stations are used for contingency purposes. On this day, a test was conducted with one of those ground stations at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
