Suzaku
Suzaku was a space satellite that studied sources of high-energy X-rays like supernova explosions and black holes. The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency led the mission, which was developed in collaboration with Japanese and U.S. institutions, including NASA.

This artist's concept depicts the Suzaku spacecraft. Suzaku (originally known as Astro-E2) launched July 10, 2005, and observed X-rays from the universe. The satellite was developed at the Japanese Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (part of JAXA, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) in collaboration with Japanese and U.S. institutions, including NASA.
