What first sparked your interest in science, technology, engineering, and/or math?

I can't pinpoint to a particular eureka moment or STEM person, but remember how rocks, creeks, and coastlines intrigued me first. Sunspots were next.

What Science Activation project(s) are you affiliated with?

NASA HEAT engages communities across the nation with educational programs about heliophysics (the exploration of the Sun and everything it influences).

Tell us about your job. What do you do?

  • Informal education

  • Promote heliophysics concepts in multiple cultures

  • Liaise with heliophysics mission outreach folks

  • Build collaboration with NASA Science Activation (Sci Act) Network and external partners

  • Support NASA in eclipse coordination efforts

What's one piece of advice you would give to someone interested in learning more about science?

Besides learning in the classroom, visit museums and science centers, and watch PBS and National Geographic. Read! Last but not the least, learn from mentors and peers.
