The My NASA Data program provides educators with relevant NASA Data resources and educational tools for teaching Earth science phenomena to students from grades 3-12. These resources may be used to support data analysis and interpretation learning for elementary, middle, and high school levels in the forms of quick engagements with NASA data, as well as longer, more sustained lessons focused on data analysis and interpretation.
One of My NASA Data’s most popular tools, the Data Literacy Cube, helps students analyze NASA maps, graphs, and data sets regardless of language proficiency or academic skill. This tool was developed with Next Generation Science Standards in mind and leveled for Lexile (reading proficiency) and WIDA (English-language proficiency) standards. With the help of a teacher intern, On April 30th, 2022, My NASA Data updated the Data Literacy Cube Guide that supports teacher implementation of the Data Literacy Cubes with four new tutorial videos that provide information and implementation strategies for this differentiated resource.
