On July 14, 2021, the 2021 Earth Educators' Rendezvous Online conference hosted by the Science Education Resource Center at Carleton College featured two My NASA Data presentations in support of the theme, “Resources for Teaching, Preparing Teachers, and Career Prep.” These presentations, “Improving Pre-service Teachers' Data Literacy and Computational Thinking Using Earth Data in Existing Methods Courses” and “Gestalt + Geoscience Data → Getting to the Finish Line: Helping Students Identify Data Patterns More Easily” featured Elizabeth Joyner, NASA Langley, in partnership with other presenters such as Dr. Mel Zrada, The College of New Jersey, and Kristin Hunter-Thomson of Dataspire. Both presentations focused on the use of NASA Earth data from My NASA Data’s Earth System Data Explorer, as well as best-practices when using large datasets with education audiences such as pre-service teachers and K12 students. 30 educators were reached.
