Reaching for the Stars: NASA Science for Girl Scouts reached of 2200 girls via Girl-led webcasts for girls K – 12. Webcast moderators were Girl Scout Astronomy Club leaders. Webcasts were available to any girl, not just registered Girl Scouts.
Girls from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, Argentina, Bahamas, China, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Peru, Qatar, Singapore and United Kingdom joined.
SETI Institute NASA funded scientist, Lori Fenton; NASA Ames engineer, Lauren Abbott; and GSUSA CEO, Sylvia Acevedo, formerly a JPL engineer, were featured.
Great Space Challenge for girls was launched during the webcast. Challenge activities are both at home and virtual, a patch is available for completing the activities.
