NASA’s Eyes software: April release notes

Eyes on the Solar System was updated several times this month, mainly to our simulation of Artemis II.

  • April 2, 2026: Eyes on the Solar System was updated to account for the exact time of the launch of Artemis II, about 11 minutes later than scheduled. We received the updated trajectory data from the mission and incorporated it into the previously added nominal launch simulation.
  • Solar panels were made Sun-pointing to approximate Artemis II rotations, since Eyes does not receive telemetry.
  • April 15, 2026: After landing there was a small release for text updates.
  • April 29, 2026: A new front-page promotion for the upcoming Psyche Mars gravity assist was added. A special event type was created for quick access and mission usage. All position and rotation data were incorporated.
