Trajectory View feature goes live!

With the Artemis II release of Eyes on the Solar System, we have added a long-requested new feature: a view showing the complete mission trajectory from a certain frame of reference. For the initial release, we added Artemis I and II, and also Voyager 1 and 2. Many more will be added soon.

To use this feature, visit one of those missions (like Artemis II), and on the left panel select “View Options,” and select “Trajectory” in the “Camera View” section at the top.

Then you will see two options in this case. The “Draw Mission” option will draw out the path of the spacecraft from start to finish, with a view of the Earth-Moon system. The “Draw Near Moon” option will have the camera placed behind the Moon with Earth in view. Try them both out, and look for more missions to be added shortly, like Cassini. In the next release, a new deep-linking feature will provide a URL so you can link directly to a specific mission and view.

The Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 trajectories are so massive that the camera will automatically pull back to show the whole path.
