Caldwell 53: Amateur Image vs. Hubble Image
Caldwell 53 (C53) is a lenticular galaxy some 32 million light-years away. Astronomers estimate that the black hole at Caldwell 53's heart has a mass roughly one billion times the mass of our Sun. The left image was taken with an 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope using a 0.63x focal reducer and a DSLR Camera. The right image was taken by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope.
