Messier 11: Amateur Image vs. Hubble Image
Messier 11 (M11) is an open star cluster located some 6,200 light-years away in the constellation Scutum. This cluster's brightest stars form a rough V-shape that resembles a flock of migrating waterfowl, giving it the common name of Wild Duck Cluster. The left image was taken with an 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope using a 0.63x focal reducer and a DSLR Camera. The right image was taken by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope.
