COSI Analysis Software and Data Challenges
The Compton Spectrometer and Imager (COSI) is a NASA Small Explorer mission launching in 2027. Designed as a wide-field imager, spectrometer, and polarimeter, COSI will detect photons from 0.2 to 5 MeV. In preparation for the upcoming mission, the COSI team is developing cosipy—a user-friendly, Python-based analysis library. To support the development and help train the community in COSI data analysis, the team is hosting annual data challenges. This presentation will highlight the cosipy tools and introduce the newly released Data Challenge 3.
