Reminder: Hybrid Joint NICER/IXPE Workshop, 29 July – 1 August 2024

10 May 2024

The Neutron-star Interior Composition Explorer (NICER) and Imaging X-Ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE) teams are pleased to announce the Joint 2024 NICER/IXPE Workshop to be held 29 July – 1 August 2024 in Washington, DC.

You can find all relevant information on the meeting webpage. In summary, the motivation is to update the community on the missions' status, latest calibration, and Guest Observer programs. There will also be invited as well as solicited science talks and poster presentations. The workshop will be hybrid, though we strongly encourage in-person attendance. The fourth (last) day of the workshop, 1 August, is an in-person-only, hands-on session for data analysis, where NICER and IXPE experts will guide participants through the analysis of data from various source classes.

Registration is free and open to everyone via this Google Form. The deadline for in-person attendance is 1 July 2024, while for remote attendance it is 26 July 2024.

The abstract submission form can be found at this Google Form. Abstracts for solicited talks are due 22 May 2024, while poster presentations will be accepted until 1 July 2024.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email the Organizing Committee at nicerixpe_oc@bigbang.gsfc.nasa.gov.
