ROSES-25: D.5 Astrophysics Pioneers Updates. NoIs Due 11 February 2026.

16 January 2026

D.5 Astrophysics Pioneers solicits proposals for Astrophysics space and sub-orbital science investigations that are greater in cost, scope, and capability than possible within the Astrophysics Research and Analysis suborbital and CubeSat program but are smaller in cost than what is possible within the Astrophysics Explorers Mission of Opportunity (MO) program (e.g., PEA Q of SALMON-3 for the 2021 opportunity). Investigations are solicited using platforms that include CubeSats (including constellations), other SmallSats, and major balloon missions. Technology development and maturation within the proposed project is allowed, but the primary review criterion for selection is the merit of the proposed science investigation

ROSES-2025 Amendment 38 delays the due dates for this program and makes three small changes to Section 5.3. Mandatory Notices of intent are now due 11 February 2026, and proposals are now due 2 April 2026. New text is in bold and deleted text is struck through.
