On Febuary 6, 2003, strong winds blew Saharan dust from Libya and Egypt out across the Mediterranean Sea. The plume can be seen in the above image acquired by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aboard NASA’s Aqua spacecraft.
