Ephemeral Lake Carnegie, in Western Australia, fills with water only during periods of significantrainfall. In dry years, it is reduced to a muddy marsh.

This image was acquired byLandsat 7's Enhanced Thematic Mapper plus(ETM+) sensor on May 19, 1999. This is a false-color composite image made using shortwaveinfrared, infrared, and red wavelengths. The image has also been sharpened using the sensor'spanchromatic band.
