Hubble SM1 COSTAR Installation
Kathryn C. Thornton lifts the Corrective Optics Space Telescope Axial Replacement (COSTAR) on STS-61 prior to its installation into the Hubble Space Telescope. Thornton is anchored to a foot restraint on the end of the Remote Manipulator System arm. Crewmate Thomas D. Akers, assisting in the COSTAR installation, is at the lower left.
