Hubble Control Center – Preparing for Launch

Members of the flight operations and systems engineering team watch as the Space Shuttle Atlantis prepares for lift-off for its mission to the Hubble Space Telescope in May 2009. The team at Goddard Space Flight Center's Space Telescope Operations Control Center would continue to monitor operations and the health of the telescope throughout the mission. Atlantis carried a seven-member crew, two new Hubble instruments, and a number of critical repair components.
