Caldwell 14: Amateur Image vs. Hubble Image
Caldwell 14 (C14), also called the Double Cluster, is some 7,500 light-years away. These two bright open star clusters appear side by side in the northern sky, about halfway between the constellations Perseus and Cassiopeia. The left image was taken with an 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope using a 0.63x focal reducer and a DSLR Camera. The right image was taken by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope.
