Tycho crater is seen from above. The crater is quite round, with rippled edges, and a small cluster of peaks in the center. A crescent of shadow is along the right side of the crater, where it is shaded from the Sun.

Tycho Crater

Tycho is a complex crater with distinct central peaks and terraced walls. Tycho's features are so steep and sharp because the crater is young by lunar standards, only about 110 million years old.
