A "barred spiral" galaxy is shaped like a backward S, with its arms of gas and dust made up of whites, pinks, red-browns, and pale blues. The center of the galaxy (the middle of the S) is a glowing white sphere.

C44 (NGC 7479) – The Propeller Galaxy

Shaped like a backward "S," Caldwell 44 emits a jet of radiation in radio wavelengths that bends in the opposite direction to the stars and dust in the arms of the galaxy. Astronomers think that the radio jet was put into its bizarre backward spin after the Propeller galaxy merged with another galaxy.
