This inset image shows that Hubble's image of C62 is one portion of a larger spiral galaxy, taken by a ground-based observatory, which appears as a glowing white disk scattered with large spheres of pink.

A ground-based image from the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in the lower left shows the galaxy Caldwell 62 (NGC 247). A white box in that image shows the region targeted by Hubble’s Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS).
