Mini RF Rozhdestvenskiy

This image is a mosaic of data collected from the Mini-RF instrument at the lunar north pole. The inset shows an un-named crater within Rozhdestvenskiy crater that potentially holds water ice. Scientists analyze the radar backscatter to understand what lies beneath the surface of the Moon. In the case of some craters near the Moon's poles, high backscatter indicates the potential for water ice
