Infiniscope PI Named AGU Fellow
Dr. Ariel Anbar of Arizona State University has been elected by the American Geophysical Union as a member of the 2021 Class of Fellows. Less than 0.1% of the nearly 130,000 members across AGU have been elected to this honorable recognition. Dr. Anbar is recognized for his contribution to the astrobiology and biogeosciences and his outstanding achievements to pushing the frontiers of science and science education at scale. He has developed novel biogeochemical methods that aid researchers in establishing relationships among the coevolution of the Earth and life upon it. Dr. Anbar also directs the Center for Education Through Exploration at ASU, where the Infiniscope project was developed and currently managed, that enables high quality, digital learning for all learners and at scale.
“This is a humbling honor,” Anbar said. “Early in my career, I took some big professional risks and — like so many young scientists — hit some rocky patches that made me question my future in the field. It goes to show that risk-taking and perseverance can pay off. I hope that's a lesson that today's younger scientists will take away."
