International Observe the Moon Night: Reaching Girl Scouts Through Social Media

Girl Scouts of the USA invited girls from local council astronomy clubs to submit a photo of the Moon and short video to encourage girls to participate in the International Observe the Moon Night on September 26th.

Social media strategy included engaging posts on Girl Scouts of the USA’s Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram pages, including a blog post that leveraged NASA’s International Observe the Moon Night website and suggested how girls can prepare for this amazing night (also spotlighted Moon activities that are featured in the Girl Scouts space science badges and funded by NASA and led by the SETI Institute).
