Can Plants Dance? – NASA eClips’s New NASA Spotlite Design Challenge

The NASA eClips project, led by the National Institute of Aerospace (NIA), aims to increase Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM) literacy and inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists by providing effective web-based, standards-aligned, in-school and out-of-school learning and teaching resources through the lens of NASA.

In February 29, 2024, the NASA eClips project team collaborated with Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden to develop a new NASA Spotlite Design Challenge, “Can Plants Dance?” This Challenge asks learners to produce videos that help change the popular misconception that plants can’t move. This Challenge is also available in Spanish.

The NASA eClips Advisory Boards provided valuable feedback on the Design Challenge webpages to make them more user-friendly. An additional option was also added, “Your Topic,” for participants who prefer to select their own topic.
