Clarifications to E.9 the Citizen Science Seed Funding Program regarding Biological and Physical Sciences
The Citizen Science Seed Funding Program (CSSFP) was added to ROSES in September 2020. This program provides support to develop citizen science projects relevant to NASA's Astrophysics, Heliophysics and Planetary Science Divisions Research Programs. In addition, proposals relevant to the Biological and Physical Sciences division's research program will also be considered on a case by case basis.
The text of E.9 Citizen Science Seed Funding Program has been clarified in a few places to indicate that "Biological and Physical Sciences" referred specifically to the new Biological and Physical Sciences Division of the Science Mission Directorate, not to biological and physical sciences generally. Moreover, Section 4 has been updated to reflect that E.12 Space Biology has been added as a new program element in ROSES-2020 since the release of CSSFP. New text is in bold and deleted text is struck through.
The proposal due date is unchanged. Proposals to the CSSFP program are due December 11, 2020. A Notice of Intent was requested, but it is not mandatory.
NASA's Biological and Physical Sciences research focuses on using the spaceflight environment to conduct experiments that cannot be conducted on Earth.
