Saturday, April 16 is National Astronomy Day. Astronomy clubs around the country hold special astronomy programs on this day and night. Events usually include solar viewing during the day and solar system viewing at night at local shopping malls, bookstores, libraries or parks. Astronomy Day occurs between mid-April and mid-May on a Saturday near the 1st quarter moon.

Contact any amateur astronomer to find out where events are happening near you. Use the member lists such as the Saturn Observation Campaign list here https://www.nasa.gov/audience/foreducators/informal/features/F_Saturn_Observation_Campaign.html to find local astronomers, or contact your nearest amateur astronomy club, planetarium or science center for information.
