Sol 1106: Right Navigation Camera, Cylindrical Perspective

NASA's Mars rover Curiosity took 17 images in Gale Crater using its mast-mounted Right Navigation Camera (Navcam) to create this mosaic. The seam-corrected mosaic provides a 360-degree cylindrical-perspective projection panorama of the Martian surface suitable for stereo viewing, centered at 304 degrees azimuth (measured clockwise from north). This single-eye view must be combined with the partner left image to be viewed in stereo. Curiosity took the images on September 17, 2015, Sol 1106 of the Mars Science Laboratory mission at drive 114, site number 50. The local mean solar time for the image exposures was from 1 PM to 2 PM. Each Navcam image has a 45-degree field of view. CREDIT: NASA/JPL-Caltech
