Amendment 48: D.3 APRA changes in scope, requirements, and points of contact

Amendment 48 changes scope, requirements, and the point of contact for D.3 Astrophysics Research and Analysis Program (APRA).

The Astrophysics Research and Analysis Program (APRA) program solicits basic research proposals for investigations that are relevant to NASA's programs in astronomy and astrophysics and includes research over the entire range of photons, gravitational waves, and particle astrophysics. Proposals for suborbital investigations are particularly encouraged. APRA investigations may advance technologies anywhere along the full line of readiness levels, from Technology Readiness Level 1 through 9. The emphasis of this program element is on technologies and investigations that advance NASA astrophysics missions and goals.

This amendment: (1) Removes the category of proposals for ground-based observations; (2) Updates points of contact; (3) Inserts a new section, 1.2.1.3, detailing CubeSat proposal guidelines; and (4) Adds a mandatory letter of support for unique sounding rocket or balloon investigation requirements. In addition, some clarifications and corrections of typographical errors have been made. Additions are shown in bold and deleted text is in strikethrough.
