This community discussion will bring together stakeholders from various sectors—space agencies, commercial companies, academia, and potential payload developers (scientists and technologists) —to explore and discuss opportunities for collaboration and innovation in the use of hosted payloads on orbital platforms. NASA’s Flight Opportunities Program has recently expanded into orbital platforms. Vendors on this new contract will present their capabilities and we invite scientists and mission managers to discuss opportunities and obstacles to wider adoption for science missions. Goals for the discussion include soliciting community input to help NASA more effectively use hosted platforms for science.
