This true-color image shows a giant whirlpool cloud, coaxed into shape by high-altitude winds, swirling above the sea between Spain and Morocco. The scene was acquired on August 21, 2002, by the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) aboard NASA’s Terra satellite.
