Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Science & Technology Interest Group Meeting
22 October 2025
Dear AI/ML Enthusiasts,
Thank you so much for your interest in the NASA Cosmic Origin Program AI/ML Science and Technology Interest Group. We've been overwhelmed by the response—over 400 people have signed up!
Finding a time that works for everyone has been challenging, but to accommodate the majority of our participants across the US, Europe, and Oceania, we've scheduled our meetings for 4pm Eastern Time on Mondays. (We'll always use New York time as our reference, please note that our first meeting on November 3rd will be at 4pm EST/Eastern Standard Time, as daylight saving time ends the day before in the US)
We'll be launching in the first week of November, and we're starting with a bang!
On November 3rd at 4pm Eastern Time, we're thrilled to welcome Jesse Thaler, director of IAIFI at MIT and corresponding author of the recent community white paper "The Future of AI in Mathematical and Physical Sciences" (supported by NSF). He'll discuss the gaps and opportunities for AI in the mathematical and physical sciences—and vice versa. You can find the white paper here: https://arxiv.org/abs/2509.02661
The talk will be recorded and held via Zoom: https://jhubluejays.zoom.us/j/99856321582?pwd=CmUHJiPYjeWPs4plO74ybKbDsdKgCX.1
All lecture materials will be posted on our webpage: https://tingyuansen.github.io/NASA_AI_ML_STIG/
We're very much looking forward to seeing you in less than two weeks!
Cheers,
Yuan-Sen
