DESI DR2: Measurements of Baryon Acoustic Oscillations and Cosmological Constraints

Speaker

Uendert Andrade, University of Michigan

Abstract

The Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) is mapping the large-scale structure of the Universe by measuring the redshifts of tens of millions of galaxies and quasars. One of DESI's key goals is to extract the imprint of Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) from the clustering of these tracers, providing a robust standard ruler to constrain cosmic expansion. In this talk, I will present the latest BAO results from DESI Data Release 2 (DR2), describe the methods used to extract and validate the BAO signal across galaxy and quasar samples, and discuss the resulting cosmological implications. I will also compare these results to those from Data Release 1 (DR1), highlighting improvements and key developments in the analysis.
